Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Operations leads our consulting and auditing services for clinical laboratory and pathology practices. In this leadership role, you will provide expert guidance and operational support to our clients looking to optimize and enhance their revenue cycle processes. This team works closely with healthcare organizations to assess their current RCM initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and deliver customized solutions to streamline operations, increase revenue, and improve overall financial performance within the lab and pathology sector.

This position can be in office or a remote (work from home) position, where the ideal candidate can travel occasionally for conferences and internal management meetings.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Lead the development and implementation of customized RCM strategies for clinical laboratories and pathology practices, focused on improving billing processes, revenue cycle efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' current RCM processes, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Work directly with client teams to define goals, develop strategies, and implement solutions tailored to their specific needs within the revenue cycle.
  • Provide recommendations on billing policies, workflows, and technology solutions to enhance RCM performance and client profitability.
  • Provide expert consulting on Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) integration, billing workflows, and revenue cycle optimization to help clients achieve sustainable growth.
  • Manage and mentor a team of RCM consultants, providing leadership, performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Oversee the training and professional development of the team to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality consulting services to clients.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment to maximize team effectiveness and client satisfaction.
  • Function as an escalation point for critical issues and providing solutions through strategic guidance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track client progress and success, using data analysis to identify trends and potential improvements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to deliver additional value to clients through tailored recommendations and services beyond the initial consulting engagement.
  •  Act as a subject matter expert on RCM best practices in clinical laboratories and pathology practices, representing the company in industry forums and discussions.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field or equivalent experience. 
  • At least 10 years of experience in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management, with specific expertise in clinical laboratory and/or pathology billing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of client-facing leadership or consulting experience, preferably in RCM consulting services.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and integration of technology solutions into RCM workflows.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong consulting and advisory skills, with a focus on strategic problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations to improve RCM performance.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare industry regulations as they relate to RCM and billing practices.
