Lighthouse Lab Services’ Quality Team is seeking a part-time Technical Consultant to manage technical and quality operations for up to twenty moderate-complexity client laboratories nationwide. Lighthouse Lab Services’ Quality Team is seeking a part-time Technical Consultant to manage technical and quality operations for up to twenty moderate-complexity client laboratories nationwide. In this role, you’ll contribute to consulting efforts, identify systemic issues, design efficient workflows, and implement process improvements—all in support of our mission to make quality laboratory testing more accessible.
Location & Schedule
Remote, work-from-home role with occasional travel as needed. Candidates near Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX are strongly preferred, as some in-person work at our headquarters may be required.
- Must be available weekdays the within 9 AM - 5 PM EST window.
- Flexible scheduling options (e.g. mornings or afternoons, MWF, T/TH, or another set weekly schedule).
- Associate’s degree in in medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science, or clinical laboratory science; and 4 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty or subspecialty areas of Chemistry (routine, endocrinology) and adherence to clinical laboratory regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; and 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty or subspecialty areas of Chemistry (routine, endocrinology) and adherence to clinical laboratory regulations.
- Experience in preparation and lead of laboratory accreditation (i.e. CLIA, COLA, CAP, and/or TJC) and licensing surveys/inspections.
- Minimum of 1 year of project management or account management experience, or equivalent experience required.
1. Serves as Technical Consultant for up to 20 of the Company’s client laboratories and fulfills all responsibilities provided by 42 C.F.R. § 493.1413, as well as requirements provided by state and local statutes and regulations, and requirements of accrediting organizations requiring oversight of the laboratory as Technical Consultant.
2. Prepares client laboratories for surveys and inspections by regulatory or accrediting bodies.
3. Prepare and/or update Client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
4. Executes pro-active, independent, strategic project management, planning, and organization.
5. Accepts and completes quality assurance (QA) /quality control (QC) projects and task management.
6. Completes documentation and record-keeping requirements and assignments.
7. Identifies areas for improvement and implements process improvement initiatives.
8. Promptly responds to communications from clients and helps to resolve issues and questions.
9. Focuses and supports team-oriented approach with high-level communication.
10. Occasional travel to make in-person visits to client laboratories, as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits- Part-time, $30-34 per hour, based on experience
