Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, we are looking for a Controller to oversee and be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of the company. This encompasses all daily operations which include billing/cash collections, vendor bill management/accounts payable, payroll, monthly close process, and financial reporting. Not only would the ideal candidate set policy and procedures but will build a team centered around collaboration and teamwork to further our mission of making quality lab testing more accessible.
While this is primarily a remote position (work from home opportunity), this position may require onsite visits and/or overnight travel up to 10% of the time. Candidates within reasonable distance to our Charlotte, NC headquarters are preferred.

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent degree is required.
- Minimum of 5 years or more of related experience required with 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite, or equivalent system, is mandatory.

- Accurately and timely prepares/maintains general ledger accounts, consolidated income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows including day to day record-keeping.
- Maintains and continuously improves documented system of accounting policies and procedures; refines a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Complete monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and period-end accruals, and performing general ledger account reconciliations, including researching and resolving reconciling items.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Supervises the monthly billing process and oversees the accuracy and completeness of all client bills and revenue.
- Supervises the accumulation of permitted reimbursements from clients through the accounts payable process and bill these reimbursements to the clients monthly.
- Supervises all accounts payable processed in corporate office and reviews expenses incurred.
- Maintains fixed asset records for coordinating quarterly inventory of fixed assets.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and tax professionals and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Prepares and processes company’s payroll.
- Manages the integration and consolation of acquired assets and entities.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 + bonus
